Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure Closed

On September 8, 2015 Universal Resort Orlando put the green giant to bed.

The Incredible Hulk roller coaster is being taken offline for some major upgrades.

When all is said and done theme park attendees should be able to try out the revamped coaster in the summer of 2016.

All New Hulk Experience

After 16 years of speeding along its bright green track with screaming thrill enthusiasts strapped in the hulk is taking a break in order to give future riders an all-new experience.

If you have plans to visit Islands of Adventure over the next year you will still be able to enjoy all of the other park rides and attractions, just don’t expect to catch a ride on The Incredible Hulk.

If you’ve been on The Incredible Hulk Coaster in the last few years you may notice that the rider queue looks a bit depressing.

It hasn’t been confirmed, but we all expect Dr. Bruce Banner’s laboratory to be given a whole new look that ties in with the new storyline.

The current ride vehicles will be replaced and we could possibly see updated tracks, only time will tell if the latter rumor comes to fruition. The new rider experience will feel more immersive and high-tech.

The Disney Marvel Deal

This update ties into agreements between Walt Disney World and Universal with regard to the Marvel acquisition.

In order to maintain rights to Marvel themed rides at Universal Studios they need to renew and refresh the attractions.

Universal has the rights to use the comic/cartoon versions of the superheroes.

Summer 2016 can’t come soon enough and you’ll want to be here when the Hulk comes back to town.
