Places to Get Away from the Crowds Around Disney World
Disney is the greatest place on Earth, but is also one of the most crowded!
While waiting in line and treading through the large crowds of people is a part of the process, there are some areas where you can get away from it all.
Some of these places are nestled in smaller, secret areas while others are out in the open but free of large crowds nonetheless!
Lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Full of rich culture and beautiful decor, this is one of the greatest lobbies in all of the Disney resorts.
You can have a seat here and gaze out at the gorgeous view of the savanna.
Enjoy breathtaking sights, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and little to no crowds at all.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Beachfront
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Beachfront - Set only a few miles from Epcot and Hollywood Studios, you can be close to the parks, and even enjoy the fireworks, without all the hustle and bustle of people.
Especially towards the late afternoon, you will find very few people on this gorgeous beachfront.
With the water in the background and the sand between your toes, it is quite peaceful.
Disney Springs - Yes, there are often a good amount of people at Disney Springs.
But because of its size, and especially with the new additions, there is so much space that no matter how many people attend there are very few lines or crowds (except at Earl of Sandwich - where no matter what time of day it is, you will have to wait in line for some truly delectable sandwich creations).
With so many stores, sights, eateries, and attractions, crowds are not really an issue here.
Skyway Bridge - Connecting Contemporary Tower to the Bay Lake Tower, this bridge is as quiet and comfortable as it is convenient. This path will lead you to the Grand Concourse Balcony, which boasts a beautiful patio with great views. Quiet and tranquil, this area is one of my favorites.
Disney's BoardWalk - It seems as though this diamond in the rough sometimes goes unnoticed.
Its quiet charm and peaceful bay breeze is one of the best places to get away from the crowds in Disney.
There are a number of really wonderful shops, restaurants, and stores here and it is always an uncrowded, pleasant experience.
Nature Trails at Disney's Fort Wildnerness
Nature Trails at Disney's Fort Wildnerness - Grab a bike or take a stroll through a few of these nature trails.
One larger trail leads to several smaller ones, so you can find your own path to tranquility!
Hear the sounds of nature and catch a glimpse of some woodland creatures as you travel through the shady trails at Fort Wilderness.
Sassagoula River - Located at Port Orleans Riverside Resort, you can walk along the river with your family, or even opt for a horse and carriage ride for a romantic adventure that will take you to a whole new place.
It is the perfect short getaway from Disney crowds and distractions!
The Mara: Outdoor Patio
The Mara: Outdoor Patio - If you are looking for a bite to eat but need a break from the crowd, try The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Located near the pool area, and just outside the restaurant, you can receive your food and sit down on their nice cool patio.
Hear the sounds of children laughing in the pool, and people chatting as they walk by.
But the area itself is very peaceful, and almost never crowded.
English Garden at Epcot
English Garden at Epcot - Nestled in the United Kingdom in the World Showcase in Epcot, English Gardens is beautiful and relaxing.
Featured in this Pavilion is a welcoming gazebo, and breathtaking views of the UK.
Your Resort Room
Your Resort Room - Do not forget that your resort room is one of the most peaceful places in all of Disney!
With beautiful decor, capacious living arrangements, and all the comforts of home, it is a great place to relax after a long day at the parks.
Most rooms have a beautiful balcony as well, which is one of the greatest places to get away from the crowds.
Personal and comfortable, step outside for serene views and fresh air.
