Universal Studio Tips for First Time Visitors

There are some key things you should keep in mind if you are heading to Universal Studios for your first time.

While it may be overwhelming to prepare for a vacation, this is one of the places that planning, and planning ahead, are required.

So while some people may not want to plan their every move, certain things are truly essential before stepping foot at Universal Orlando Studios.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

There is a ton of walking at Universal.

So while your sandals may match your outfit perfectly, and your flip flops are the appropriate gear for the 90 degree weather you are experiencing, neither are the correct footwear for your venture.

Sneakers are best to avoid tripping and ensuring that you are completely comfortable for the day ahead of you.

Keep in mind that you will easily be walking several miles each day, sometimes without even realizing it.

So sneakers are definitely the shoe of choice.

Plan Your Day

Yes, we know it is your vacation and you do not want to have to plan ahead.

But while winging it may seem like a good idea, this is simply not the case with this type of vacation.

At the very least, plan to do the rides at the back of the park first, as it is usually the least crowded in the morning.

Also, a good time to do popular rides is during a parade or scheduled show.

Plan your meals as well.

There are a lot of good choices in Universal, so take advantage.

If you do not plan ahead you may end up going to the closest place to you, which may not always be the best choice. In order for everything to run smoothly, a little planning will go a long way.

Arrive Early

In order to be one of the first people in line to enter the park, and get the most of your day at Universal, you should plan to get there at least a half hour before the parks actually open.

In this way, you can head in as soon as they open-which is in some cases a few minutes early!

So you can get to your first ride as soon as the opening time-pretty cool!

Pre Purchase Tickets

Purchase tickets ahead of time, and opt for the park to park pass.

The last thing you want to do is wait on line to purchase tickets at the gate.

The lines are often very long, and it takes valuable park time away from you.

Along with this, if you think you may want the option of going to both parks in one day (for example, both sides of Harry Potter World), purchase park to park passes to make it easier and save some money.

Schedule Around Parades and Show Times.

Find out the schedule of any shows and parades that you want to go to ahead of time.

This way, you can plan accordingly.

Do not go on a line for a ride at least an hour before you have to be at one of those showings.

Plan to get to the show or parade a few minutes early to guarantee a good spot.

Following these tips will help you be prepared for your first trip to Universal Orlando Studios, so you can relax and have a great time with your family!

Other Tips

Choose the single ride line if you do not mind riding without the rest of your family.

It is always shorter, and you will be able to go on double the rides by the end of the day by choosing to be a single rider.

Charge your phone.

There is nothing worse than being in the middle of the park, separated from the rest of your family with no way to get in touch with them.

Make sure your phone is charged, as it is a LONG day in Universal.

Finding the rest of your party is extremely difficult in such a large crowd, and not having a phone makes it a bigger challenge.

You can also use your phone for in park apps to help you navigate, learn about the rides, and check out where you should head to next.
