Downtown Disney Redesign
Updated: 25 Feb 2013 12:25:15 AM
There's been a lot of talk recently about the possible redesign of Downtown Disney providing an overdue facelift.
Originally known as the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village in 1975 and the addition of the Pleasure Island makeover four years ago, it just hasn't inspired the same Disney wonderment as other parks.
The rumored revamping would divide Downtown Disney into six different neighborhoods, each with a distinctive new look.
Among these rumors, is the contemplation that Downtown Disney will be renamed "Disney Springs."
Perhaps this name is to create some association with the Disney Saratoga Springs Resort and possibly have a bridge to connect with the resort.
There are several versions of what the design will actually involve but some of these include, a new parking garage, as well as new dining and entertainment attractions.
Also mentioned is a Town Center including a retail center with an open area.
There is also the possibility of more green spaces and additional shops all making the area very family friendly.
What does Disney have to say about all these rumors?

A Disney spokesperson commented, "Work continues on bringing our vision for Downtown Disney to life.
As with any project of this size and scope, our plans have continued to grow and evolve... We look forward to sharing additional details soon."
Don't take too much of this to heart, as it is all still rumors and whatever changes Disney makes, they will be what they do best, create magic.
